A rechargeable home battery system called Powerwall keeps grid or solar energy in reserve and releases it when needed. Powerwall is small and simple to include into your house thanks to its integrated battery inverter. Over-the-air upgrades will provide new features to Powerwall, just like they do for all other Tesla devices.
It is possible to combine Powerwall with your current solar system. Solar inverters from SMA, SolarEdge, Fronius, Enphase micro inverter, Delta, and ABB are compatible with Powerwall. Tesla is still looking on ways to work with other inverter manufacturers.
A Gateway and a minimum of one Powerwall battery make up a Powerwall system. Powerwall metering, monitoring, and energy management are all handled by the Gateway. The Gateway obtains system updates wirelessly and has communication capabilities for a maximum of ten Powerwalls.
You can monitor your home energy system in real time and examine your energy usage history with the Tesla mobile app as long as your Powerwall is online. Powerwall will continue to function using its most recent settings in the event of an Internet connection loss, but you won’t be able to monitor it or make changes until connectivity is restored.
Power flow displays the electricity that is produced by your solar panel system, stored or released by Powerwall, used within your house, and imported or exported from the grid in real time. Access to it is possible via the Powerwall home screen. Your home energy system will be visible to you in real time.
